ALL LOCAL UNIONS SYSTEM COUNCIL
NO. 2
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
D.A. Moresette, General Director of Labor Relations, will be
retiring and Andrea Gansen will be his replacement.
Also, I have been advised of various changes in the
Carrier’s Officers of Appeal and Designated Officers to
handle claims, grievances, etc., for the Engineering,
Mechanical and Communications Department. This
information, along with the maps indicating the area for
these regional officers will be forthcoming to all Local
Chairmen. The letter is attached hereto without the
map for your ready reference and review.
I have assigned Assistant General Chairman Jim Wisniski,
Assistant General Chairman Don Tortorice and Local Chairman
1920 Bob Norton, to give a Powerpoint presentation to CMO
Barry Kanuch and his Assistant John Estes on properly
educating our members. I feel it is imperative that we
handle and oversee the training of our brothers and sisters
in the electrical field, rather than management or another
craft.
Vice General Chairman Pat Perry is back to work and
continuing his recovery from knee surgery.
I hope that all Local Chairmen have monitored the Protest
Rosters and that the current Seniority Rosters are without
error. Also, all Foremen, Supervisors and officials
who are not paying dues should either be frozen or removed
from the roster based on when they were promoted.
Those promoted prior to the UP Agreement dated June 1, 1981,
the MP Agreement of October 1, 1983, are to be frozen and
all others removed under the National Agreement of January
1, 1987, are to be frozen. Those promoted after the
respective dates are to be removed from the roster.
All Financial Secretaries should notify this office after
sending a two (2) week notice to any individual who is
delinquent in dues and if they are unsuccessful in
collecting these amounts, then this office should be
notified and a proper Union Shop citation will be served.
For those ceasing to pay a Maintenance of Membership fee,
again this office should be promptly notified and they will
be handled in accordance with the respective CBA’s.
